Evaluation of the toxicity and hepatoprotective properties of new s-substituted pteridins

Abstract Liver damage is a common problem around the world, and pharmacocorrection of such disease carried out by administration various drugs. Natural synthetic thio-containing compounds are important in this respect. Most these, however, have side effects do not always meet criteria evidence-based medicine. Therefore, search for new drugs with hepatoprotective properties, characterized high efficiency low toxicity, an urgent current pharmacology biochemistry. The purpose study was to assess acute toxicity potentially bioactive S-substituted pteridinones, select least toxic substance, improve pharmaco-technological characteristics, properties experimental model tetrachloromethane hepatitis rats. Herein, comparison compound 4.1 reference drug "Thiotriazoline" based on biochemical studies. research results showed that sub-stance had positive effect processes increasing compensatory mechanisms antioxidant systems, while reducing infiltrative, destructive inflamma-tory process liver, evoking decreases cytolytic process, restoring structure components membrane hepatocytes, stabilizing enhancing functional activity liver’s protein-synthesizing function abil-ity restore metabolic disorders liver. As result hepa-toprotective 4.1, it found studied substance non-toxic properties.
